Possible solution to the BCS problem?
It's really bothering me now more than ever that we don't have a playoff in college football, so I got to thinking about how they could institute a playoff without losing the financial benefits of the bowl games, and this is what I came up with:
First, the bowl games (including the national championship game) are held exactly as they are now. Then, after the bowl games, a "college football invitational tournament" is held, which is completely independent of the BCS. The five teams that won their BCS bowl games are invited to participate, and are seeded based on their BCS rankings. If anyone declines their invitation, it is passed along to the school with the next highest BCS ranking. The four teams other than the national champion have a two-round playoff to decide the tournament champion, and the tournament champion then plays the national champion in a sort of college football super bowl. A trophy is awarded to the winner of this game. If the national champion declines to participate in the tournament then the final game is not played and the tournament champion wins the trophy by default.
It's not perfect, but it's much better than what we have now, and would seem to bypass some of the obstacles to a playoff system.

BOWLING – I need to know if I can resurface my ball for another league I joined in another bowling alley?
I took up bowling 2 years ago and played on a league at only 1 bowling alley. I never bowled anywhere else. I worked up my average to 179. I throw a HUGE hook, I start at the furthest dot on the left and throw my ball to the 3-5 board and bring it into the pocket. I moved to Chicago and bowl in a REALLY old bowling alley with wood lanes and hardly any oil. My ball keeps hooking into the gutter even before it hits the pins. I keep trying to hook the ball less but it feels uncomfortable. I really like my ball ( 15 lbs. Tropical Storm - had surface sanded for max grip) I love the way its drilled and I don't want a new ball. Could I have my ball refurfaced so that it slides on the lane and I could still use my massive hook. Its the way I feel comfortable throwing the ball. I am now using a 14 lbs. Brunswick plastic ball and dumping my thumb out to get min. hook. Thanks for any help!
Why do cats never drink the water intended for them?
We give our cat a constant supply of water next to his food bowl and he never drinks it, yet we see him happily drinking out of puddles, buckets of water we're washing the car with, the toilet bowl or any other seemingly less appealing water supplies!
The water is through a purifying tap, so it shouldn't have too many chemicals or whatever, and even if it did, it'd be better than toilet water!

Which is the highest award given in the Westminster Dog Show?
I've seen photos of the awards and there is a crystal bowl trophy, a silver bowl trophy, a silver trophy with handles and a pink & yellow ribbon (and other ribbons). Which of those is the "Best in Show" award?
I'm specifically wondering what the Best in Show trophy looks like, since there are so many awards. I'm going to recreate the Best in Show award in 3D, so I need to make sure I have the right one... since there is a crystal bowl, a silver bowl, and then another more ornate trophy. im a girl scout, in the process of the gold award, i will graduate 2010 and i am in cheerleading, bowling, school musicals, and school plays, and girls scouts. i have a 3.2 and i realy need to start getting scholarships now, any help? could i get a scholarship? help!
