I would recommend something from the Storm Jolt series, Not too pricey and great balls from what I have seen. When you purchase a ball tell the Pro Shop your desired ball reaction and what type of lane conditions you play on.

Start off with some of the entry level balls on the market. Entry level balls like the Storm “Tropical Storm” or the Columbia “Scout Reactive” can be purchased for under $100 less the cost of drilling. These balls go fairly long and are easy to control. If you are set on purchasing a mid range ball, again I would emphasize getting a ball with a mild cover that would be easy to control.

The Hammer Anger and Cherry Vibe are the best mid-range balls from Hammer for a bowler your style. Then Anger tends to hook a lot more, where the Vibe will go a lot longer and is best suited for medium to dry lanes. If you want a ball that’s more versatile for oily and medium conditions, the Widow Pearl is your best bet. If you want to use any Storm balls, the Shift is the most versatile ball – you can drill it up to go long and hook, or you can drill it to just hook. The Shift is best used for medium – oily lanes. The Special Agent is another ball best suited for heavier oil conditions. The Shift Attitude is another good one for heavier oil conditions.
