How fast can you throw a Bowling Ball?

How fast can you throw a Bowling Ball at a bowling alley?
I bowled a few days ago and it’s been years since I bowled, anyways I did about 19. 7MPH, how fast can anybody throw?
I bowled yesterday and reached a speed of around 21. 5MPH with a 11Ib ball.

I did a 16Ib ball about 13MPH top and scored almost a 25 in that game LOL. I got a strike and a 9 on #10 with the 11Ib ball which made it 44 top score.
I went bowling again and I threw the 16Ib ball 15. 5-16MPH

Not too fast. I’d say fairly slow like 5 MPH.

  2. It Co$t To Be Around The Bo$$ says:

    A hundred miles an hour.

My fastest was 20.4 mph or around there. I don’t go bowling that much anymore but I hate when most of the bowling lanes are just too oily. They put way too much oil on the damn lanes.

I can get up to 19 mph, but I usually average about 13.5 – 14.0. Any faster or slower and I miss the pocket.

Clocked on a “bowlertrak” during league play.

Medium Oily lane condition – 17mph
Heavy oil condition – 16.5 mph
Light oil condition – 15.9 mph

I guess they had a speed gun located behind the scoreboard or in the pin deck.

    like 13-14 average

When shooting at Ten Pins, I am consistently between 23-25 mph. But first ball average is 16.5. Friend of mine throws a huge hook with an average of 18-19 mph for his first ball.

I went bowling and threw a 15 pound ball consistently at 32.5 mph. Then again I have a very unorthodox style of bowling.

  9. TREVOR E says:

I’ve recently thrown a 16 lbs ball around 19 mph to make a spare. My strike ball is around 15 mph.
A pro named Robert Smith throws his spare ball around 35 mph. I think that’s the fastest on the pro tour.

yeh man, i throw up all over the place, what was the question?

  11. Bowllynn says:

Probably around 12 mph. You’ll have better scores if you slow down the ball and use a 15 pound ball. Bowlers tend to lose control when they try to roll the ball too fast. Good luck knocking down those pins.

This one depends on your strengths verses technique. The record I think is about 35mph in the pros. AS far as me I can get up to about 30mph when I am using a plastic ball when using it for a 10 pin. Otherwise I am about 20 to 25mph when I am just bowling for a strike or something. The average ball speed for a bowling is about 10 to 15mph with pro bowlers averaging about 20 to 25 mph unless they change their speed for lane conditions then it can vary depending on the lane condition

  13. Daiv says:

    my best was 24.7 mph
