how long should i wait to call for a job interview?

How long should I wait to call, an interview? I turn to my online application for two days. I try to work with AMF Bowling. What should I say when I call? And I was planning a black polo jeans, and black shoes?

You should not call to setup a job interview. That’s the employers job. What you can do, however, is call to ask about the status of your job application. Employers like when potential employees call after submitting an application because it shows interest.

I would wait about a week before calling, and when you call, simply say, “Hi, my name is XXX. I’m calling to ask about the status of my job application.” Most likely they’ll find you the proper person that you should be talking to, pull out your application and with any luck, they’ll be impressed with your calling and will set up an interview for you right then. Otherwise, they may say that they will call you at a later date.

As far as attire, I’m not really sure for a bowling alley. I wouldn’t dress too nicely as I do believe that there is such thing as being overdressed depending on what the job is. Stick to business casual. I would not wear jeans to any job interview. Wear a nice pair of slacks, a collared button-up shirt (tucked in with belt), and a nice pair of shoes.
