Now this is a head scratcher!!! MATH QUESTION?

Ms. Brown’s Math class won a popcorn party, by all duties for three weeks. It was the mission of Ms. Brown for the popcorn popper to make, and all other supplies and utensils. When it was time for the party, the class decided that they needed only five cups of popcorn right upright to make popcorn, but she had forgotten a measuring cup. However, they had two more vessels – one was a seven-cup container and the other was one of three containers. How the class to use these containers to measure exactly 5 cups of popcorn? (You can use a bowl or pot-up. You only Popper, a bag, and two containers)

  1. c²=a²+b² says:

Fill the 7 cup container, then put 6 cups back in the bag of popcorn using the 3 cup container twice. 1 cup left over. Pour the 1 cup of popcorn from the 7 cup container to the 3 cup container. Then fill the 7 cup container from the bag, and use it to fill the 3 cup container the rest of the way. This will take 2 cups, leaving 5 cups in the 7 cup container ! :)

  2. D D says:

fill the 7 cup up twice the take back 3 cups three times that leave 5 cups 7 cup filled twice equals 14 cups 3 cup filled three times equals 9 cups 14 minus 9 is 5
