Ohio University acceptance…?

Hello,
My girlfriend has applied to Ohio University and is really nervous that she will not get in. The thing is, she has been accepted to Toledo, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio, so there’s really no reason why OU would not accept her. OU asked her to send in her grades from the college classes she is taking now, and they are mostly A’s. They wouldn’t ask her to send in her grades, and they are good grades, just to turn her down would they? She didn’t get that great of grades her freshman and sophmore years of high school but since then she has gotten pretty much straight A’s. Do you think she will get accepted by OU? Thanks
what does everyone else think?

She probably will, but have her hold onto one of those other acceptances just in case.

It sounds like your girlfriend is a transfer student, with some previous college credit.

Asking for grades is a fairly standard procedure. We usually don’t fully process an application without a record of grades. So it’s likely OU was just asking to get that stuff in order to complete her record.

I say that not to discourage you, but to be realistic.

Does she have someone she knows at OU in the admission office she could call to find out the status of her application? If she hasn’t worked with a specific counselor, call that office and ask to speak with a transfer admission specialist.

Here’s another tip: once she hears back from OU, your girlfriend may need to weigh the options of these schools against one another. Has she gone online to check out the Course Applicability System (www.transfer.org). That will show her how her current courses will transfer to a program of study at the colleges listed. She may want to go to the place where she’ll get the most mileage for her credits.

Best of luck in her search process. What a sweet guy to come on and ask for her. I can tell you really care.
