Don’t listen to him, that is a ridiculous statement to make, that you are being cruel. You are taking care of this animal every day, feeding it, cleaning the bowl, you and that fish are doing just fine. And a snail would be lovely, I think it would be a very nice addition to your setup.
i don’t know how well a snail would do in a bowl, they also poop a lot (more cleaning for you) and could climb out if there is no lid. i suggest saving your money on a proper tank for a snail and then get one.
I agree with Dark Ryok. A bowl is no proper place for any-fish. I appreciate how tough Bettas are and how they stay stong even when put in horrible conditions.
Please read this article and consider creating a proper home for the fish. If you are not willing to, I suggest that you take the fish to a proper store (not Petsmart or Pet-co but a good quality fish-only store) and let them take care of it. No fish deserves to be put in such conditions. Just because a fish is living doesn’t mean that it is healthy, happy, or living in the right conditions. Please read this and prepare to either upgrade to a proper home or take hjim to a place that will properly take care of him.
I think you should sell the bowl and buy a proper tank. You are being cruel to the betta by putting him in a bowl.
