Suggestions for what type of bowling ball to buy?

Greetings! I go bowling once in a while, but I use balls home to play the tracks. I am very happy to buy a bullet for me and I heard there are different types of balls available. I want to know what are the different types. Any suggestions, what type should I buy? My throw a ball to right a side street and technique I use a ball of 12 pounds. Thank you!

My fiance and I really got into bowling over the last year and recently purchased our first bowling balls. They suggest that females use between a 10 and 14lb. ball and males between 14 and 16lbs. My fiance used a 12 lb house ball before he bought his, and they suggested he go for a 14 lb, and it has been working out well for him. We were shown two basic types of balls, the basic kind and the “hook” kind for those who throw curves/hooks. We were told that you generally don’t buy the hook balls until you reach an avergae of 160 or so, even if you can throw a hook. Since you’re a beginner and a straight thrower like me, you should definitely start with the basic ball, and I would really suggest going for a 14 lb. When you purchase your own ball they will drill it perfectly for your fingers, which will make it seem lighter (you always have to hold on tighter to keep your fingers in the house balls) so you probably won’t have any trouble using a 14 instead of a 12. We bought ours for about $90 each at an alley pro shop which included drilling and a bowling bag, and I think a lot of the shops we have seen offer many of the same balls with similar prices (ours are Maxim and WD). I hope this helps – good luck!
