Petco, Petsmart, Petland? do a google search for you city and pet supplies. Chances are your city may have a smaller pet supply store.

Don’t overspend. You can find all of that stuff at Wal-Mart or Target.

I like Petsmart, especially when I was looking for a crate, I took my dog in and they helped me pick the right size and let him go in the crate to be sure.

You can go to regular petstores for pet supplies like Crates, Leashes,Collars and Bowls. You will need to look at specialty Petstores for good quality foods, treats and shampoos since Petco and Petsmart dont tend to carry them.
Look for all natural dog foods and shampoos.

I am going to suggest a mom and pop pet shop. The reason I recommend that is the people who work there are invested in their work, and often times know more about their products. For example: Superpet tried to get me to feed my dog some CRAP (it was basically a no name science diet), but when I went to the mom and pop shop down the street they not only helped me decide on a premium food (which was all they carried), but gave me tips on crate training, which treats are best for pups, good teething toys etc. Everything they told me was just excellent!

If you are looking to save a few bucks, most mom and pop shops will haggle too, if you tell them you want to buy everything there!

As for what you need to buy:
Crate, toys (rope, chew, nylabone, kong, teething toys), brush, comb, shampoo, nail clippers, between bath wipes, poop pick up bags, paper towels (for cleaning up those messes!), enzyme based cleaner to get rid of the smell in carpets, bowl for food and water (heavy that will not tip over and easily washed), collar, leash, a blanket or area they can hang out on when they are not in the crate, bone, treats (don’t forget that things like plain cheerios, carrots, celery, apple pieces are all considered treats to them!), premium dog food, and I can’t think of anything else….

Walmart for just about everything besides the food.
Get good food and dont worry about treats right away…cheerios or the puppy food will do just fine for now

Petsmart, it has more variety then Petco. If you are not in a hurry to get these items. Try http://www.petedge.com I love this site. you can get collars for $3, frontline for cheap, sweatshirts as low as $4, crates, dog bowls, harnessess, beds, etc at ridiculously low prices. However if you spend less then $60.00 (before tax) you well get stuck with an $8.00 fee.

Also you may want to try going to Ross if you have one in your area, I found a lot of dog bowls, beds. The same with Big Lots.

You’ll be surprised how much you run up a bill at Petsmart if you choose to get everything at once in one place.

    Good luck!
