why water keeps running from the toilet tank to the toilet bowl?

one of my toilets is leaking. Water keeps running from the tank to the bowl. I have changed the flapper valve and the float ball but it still leaks. When I turn off the water supply, even if the tank is full of water, the leak stops. My guess was, the water should keep running to the bowl as the tank is full of water even if i turn off the water supply. I couldn’t figure out where the leak comes from. I haven’t made anychange since it was built 6 years ago. help please:(

Go to an expert and ask Larry Craig.

It’s the fill valve. When the ball is raised to a level the water should shut off automatically. The water is not shutting off and is overflowing into a tube that leads to the bowl. It is a saftey mechanism to ensure that water does not overflow from the tank. Replace it and you are golden!

Recheck the tube level or float level involving the overflow tube located above flapper.
Also last year bought a kit for tank repair and found that the flapper had a bit of a twist causing
the thing to leak just give it a twist in the the other direction if possible.
    Good luck.

The flapper or flapper seat is defective as this keeps the water in the tank. Run your finger over the area that the flapper sits on. It may have a nick that is letting the water escape into the bowl.
